Civilian Marksmanship Program Bullseye Pistol Clinics

Sunday April 30th and Sunday July 30th, 2023

Clinic Fee: $10

Sign-in 7:30 AM at Ojai Valley Gun Club, Rose Valley Range. Events run until 1:00 PM

  • Certified Instructors will provide instruction and coaching in the safe handling, operation, and firing of Full Sized (4” Barrel, or longer) Revolvers and Auto-Loading Pistols

  • A 30-shot match is included: 10 Shots/Each – Slow, Timed, and Rapid Fire

  • Certificates of participation will be awarded. You are then eligible for Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) firearm purchase


NOTES:


  • These Bullseye Pistol Clinics are open to Adult Club Members and Non-Members 21 years of age, or older. No previous pistol experience is necessary.

  • Suitable for new or experienced participants; OK for Probationary Shoot Requirement

  • Individuals below 21 years of age may not participate (unless Active-Duty Military with ID)

  • Each participant must supply his/her own Full-Size Revolver or Auto Pistol having at least a 4-inch Barrel

  • Each participant must supply at least 50 Rounds of his/her own Ammunition

  • .22 LR in a Target Revolver or Auto Pistol is recommended for beginners

  • Cartridges up to .45 ACP are permitted for experienced shooters

  • NO MAGNUM LOADS – and NO .44 Special/.44-40 or .45 LC Factory Loads PLEASE

  • No steel-containing bullets/projectiles are permitted per United States Forest Service regulations.

  • ALL AMMUNITION WILL BE TESTED WITH A MAGNET.

Participants should dress warmly for the morning (altitude = 3,000 ft.) and bring drinking water and a snack, as facilities on the range are limited. Internet-cell service not guaranteed.

Revolver and Auto-loading Pistol Instructional Clinic and

NRA Bullseye/Precision Pistol Course of Fire

The program will begin with activities I through III on the Covered Firing Line at the Rose Valley Range before proceeding to Live Fire. All participants must complete all three instructional sections before the Live Fire Activity, regardless of age or prior experience.
