Civilian Marksmanship Program Service Rifle Clinics

Sunday March 31st and Sunday December 29th, 2024 Events

Participants must sign up in advance by contacting Robert Coffey, the Clinic Director, in advance of the scheduled date(s). Email is preferred. Please include each participant’s full name, age (if under 18), address and phone number.

Clinic Fee: $10 (+ $25 for 30 or 7.62 cal., $17 for 5.56 cal. or $10 for .22 cal. ammunition – if needed)

Juniors under age 18 shoot free (+ ammunition cost, only) Junior shooters must be accompanied by parent or responsible adult.

Sign-in 7:30 AM at Ojai Valley Gun Club, Rose Valley Range. Events run until 1:00 PM


NOTE: These events are open to the public. No previous rifle experience is necessary. Participants may use a Club-Owned AR-15 Rifle, or may use their own M1, M1A, 1903, 03/A3, M1 carbine, ’17 US Enfield or AR-15 rifles. 

30-06 and 7.62 NATO ammunition is available at $25/person (35 rounds), 5.56 ammunition is $17, .22 LR is $10. 

M-1 Carbine shooters must supply their own ammunition. 

No steel-containing bullets/projectiles are permitted per United States Forest Service regulations. 

ALL NON-CLUB AMMUNITION WILL BE TESTED WITH A MAGNET.

Participants should dress warmly for the morning (altitude = 3,000 ft.) and bring drinking water and a snack, as facilities on the range are limited. Internet-cell service not guaranteed.

2024 Civilian Marksmanship Program Service Rifle Clinics

 AR-15, M14/M1A, Garand Rifle Instructional Clinic and

John C. Garand, A-Course of Fire

 

The program will begin with activities I through III on the Covered Firing Line at the Rose Valley Range before proceeding to Live Fire. All participants must complete all three instructional sections before the Live Fire Activity, regardless of age or prior experience.
